Hopkinsville City Council tonight unanimously approved first reading of an ordinance concerning sewer and water rates and user fees.
Mayor Dan Kemp offers more information about the rate increase that is set to become effective January 1st.
In other business, council authorized the installation of a crosswalk at 208 Old Commerce Court from the Grupo Antolin Kentucky Plant located on the east side of the street to the existing parking lot located on the west side of the street and in line with the existing concrete sidewalk.
City Council also authorized the mayor to execute a memorandum of understanding with Christian County to accept $16,466 from the 2013 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant program to be given to the Christian County Juvenile Drug Court.
Council then went into closed session to discuss potential litigation and took no action.
