State Police have identified the man found dead from a gunshot wound on Kentucky Lake Sunday morning.
A news release says the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife notified KSP a body had been found by the Marshall County Rescue Squad near the Trigg-Lyon County line around 10 a.m.
Police believed the body was that of a man missing from Tennessee and later identified him as 72-year old David Couger of Big Sandy, Tennessee. Fish and Wildlife officials asked State Police to investigate due to the nature of the death—which was ruled as being from a single gunshot wound to the head after an autopsy.
No other details are provided and KSP says the investigation continues.
