Preliminary statistics released by Kentucky State Police indicate that nine people died in nine separate crashes on Kentucky roadways from Monday, June 24th through Sunday.
State Police say single-fatality, motor vehicle crashes occurred in : Campbell, Estill, Floyd, Graves, Green and Pulaski Counties.
State Police say the victims in Campbell, Estill, Floyd, Graves, Green and Pulaski Counties did not wear their seat belts and the crashes in Floyd and Green Counties involved the suspected use of alcohol.
Police say single-fatality, motorcycle crashes also occurred in McCracken and Rowan Counties with the victim in Rowan County not wearing a helmet and a pedestrian was killed in Marshall County and the suspected use of alcohol was involved.
Through Sunday, preliminary data showed that 310 people have lost their lives on Kentucky roadways during 2013, which is 62 less than reported for this time period last year.
