Governor Steve Beshear is recognizing the service and sacrifice of a Fort Campbell soldier, who died while supporting Operating Enduring Freedom.
According to the Department of Defense, 25-year old Sergeant Justin R. Rogers of Barton, New York died June 28th in Bagram, Afghanistan, from a non-combat related incident, which is currently under investigation.
Sergeant Rogers was assigned to the Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 101st Airborne Division.
The Governor will order that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on the day of Sgt. Rogers’ interment for which arrangements are still pending.
