A six-year old girl has died at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital after what appears to have been an accidental shooting in Hopkinsville Sunday morning.
The police report from Officer Jason Brent says Amy Winkleman called 911 around 8:45 after her daughter was shot one time in the facial area with a 38 caliber pistol.
HPD Sgt. Mike Platero says after initial investigation, it appears the girl was accidentally shot by her sibling.
No one has been charged with any crime and Sgt. Platero says the investigation continues. Two grandparents, the victim's mother and two children other than the victim reportedly live at the Linda Drive residence. The victim's name has not been released due to her being a juvenile.
