Hopkinsville Police arrested a man this morning accused of burglarizing vehicles in an area of town where several have been investigated in recent days.
Officer Terry Bigbee found 42-year old Billy Lee Sanders of Hopkinsville walking on Florence Street around 4 am and noticed several packs of cigarettes on his person that were the same brand reported stolen from a car earlier in the morning on Old Major Lane.
A class ring was also allegedly found on Sanders' person and it had the name of a man living on Old Major Lane engraved on it. That victim was able to positively identify the ring as his. Sanders was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property over $500 and receiving stolen property under $500 and was lodged in the Christian County Jail.
Sanders has a long history with the law, having been arrested by the Hopkinsville Police Department 20 times in the last 10 years.
