Governor Steve Beshear has directed that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff tomorrow in honor of a Fort Campbell soldier who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
According to the Department of Defense, 39-year old Warrant Officer Sean W. Mullen of Dover, Delaware, died Sunday, June 2nd in Afghanistan, of wounds sustained when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.
He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group and was deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Interment for Warrant Officer Mullen will be held at 9 a.m. Eastern time at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C.
Governor Beshear encourages individuals, businesses, organizations and government agencies to join in this tribute in honoring the fallen Green Beret.
