A man who had allegedly been in a stolen vehicle was arrested by Hopkinsville Police yesterday morning after a foot chase.
Charged with fleeing from police, assault of a service animal and receiving stolen property is 20-year old Jose Feliciano of Hopkinsville. Officers were working a burglary detail around 12:30 on East 21st Street when they saw Feliciano in a vehicle with an open door, according to the report.
Police tried to talk to Feliciano and that's when he allegedly took off on foot and got away momentarily. About two hours later, officers caught up to him again on South Virginia and another foot chase ensued. A k-9 unit was used to catch him and Feliciano allegedly hit the dog in the head in an unsuccessful attempt to get away.
The report from Officer Andre Jacobs says the 1991 Chevy pickup Feliciano was in came back as stolen.
