A local woman who police say has never had a driver's license was arrested on her second DUI charge in the last five years Friday morning after wrecking pulling out of a driveway
Police say 32-year old Shatonya Lane of Hopkinsville was attempting to back out of 205 North Iris around 2 am when she went down a small embankment and into the back yard at 2615 Richard Street.
Lane's vehicle went through a chain link fence and Officer Jeremy Marcum writes she showed signs of being intoxicated on the scene. She allegedly failed field sobriety tests and registered a blood alcohol content of .232 on the breath test—nearly three times the legal limit.
Lane was arrested and charged with DUI, driving without a license, disorderly conduct and assault of a police officer for allegedly kicking Officer Marcum as he escorted her to the cruiser.
