Governor Steve Beshear has directed that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff tomorrow in honor of two Fort Campbell soldiers, who died while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
According to the Department of Defense, 20-year old Specialist Robert A. Pierce of Huntington, Arkansas died June 3rd, in Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when his unit was attacked.
Flags will be lowered to half-staff to also honor 23-year old 2nd Lt. Justin L. Sisson of Phoenix, Arizona, who died June 3rd in Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when his unit was attacked.
Pierce and Sisson were both assigned to the 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team.
