A select number of local Army wives and their youngsters can walk a little taller after they successfully completed the 1-32nd Cavalry Regiment’s annual spouse spur ride, which was held this morning at the local post.
The day began bright and early for the spouses, who decided to participate in this year’s event, with many promising to return next year.
The regiment’s commander, Lieutenant Colonel Paul Taylor offers more information about the annual spur ride.
First time participant, Maryann Andrews, the wife of Command Sergeant Major Larry Andrews says even though it was a tough course, she was glad to show her support.
After jumping over a wooden barrier, Ebony Loos, the wife of Specialist Christian Loss says the spur ride was a lot of fun and that she hopes her husband will be proud of her knowing she participated in the physically challenging event.
At the conclusion of the spur ride, participants received their coveted spurs along with a certificate, culminating the fun filled day.
