Rev. Jason Heidel leads prayer at service
National Day of Prayer was observed by a good crowd at First United Methodist Church early this morning in an event hosted by the Christian County Ministerial Association.
People of different races and denominations prayed together at the church on South Main Street, where Reverend Alice Nichols led the crowd in the opening prayer for the country.
The Reverend Jason Heidel prayed for a spirit of cooperation and service for government officials—locally, statewide and nationally.
First United Methodist Church pastor Reverend Paige Williams led a prayer for churches across the world and other ministers led prayers for families, the media, civic leadership, education, businesses and the military.
