Night two of the 63rd Annual WHOP Rotary Radio Auction was successful, as it exceeded last year's Tuesday effort.
A big effort in the Hour and Goat Club was needed after the first evening got off to a slow start in that area and it came to fruition. The figures show $15,000 was contributed to the two clubs last night, over double the number on Tuesday night last year.
One hundred four items were auctioned off last night for a total of about $6,800, which was about $2,800 less than last year's Tuesday effort. The mini auction and general store and sweet shop numbers were very similar to Tuesday of last year, bringing the night two total to $24,586.
Overall, the auction remains almost $17,000 behind last year's pace at $82,544 and the Goat Club and Hour Clubs is where the auction needs the most help.
Local middle and high schools will present their fund raising reports to the Rotary Club tonight at 6:30. You can attend, eat supper and bid in person at the War Memorial Building tonight or you can listen to all of the action on Newstalk 95.3 FM, 1230 AM and online at whopam.com.
