A special-called compensation hearing was held tonight at council chambers to discuss a proposed contract to hire a new city administrative officer for the City of Hopkinsville.
Committee members discussed the details of a proposed contract of employment intended to be offered to interim CAO and city budget officer, Melissa Sellers Spurr, who was the only person to apply for the position.
Ms. Spurr declined the first offer after committee members initially discussed details of the proposed contract.
Under the proposed contract, Ms. Spurr would earn a base salary of $79,763.00, which will be subject to deductions for taxes and other with holdings as required by law.
Mayor Dan Kemp says he hopes to get the details worked out in order to move forward with serving the public.
Committee member Paul Henson expressed his concern over the proposed contract.
