Two Hopkinsville Police detectives have been teaching a program to local teens on the consequences of “sexting,” which is sending nude or partially nude photo of one’s self to others via text message.
Sexting is a felony in Kentucky and would be considered possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor or distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor.
Detectives Scott Raup and Bert Finley have been teaching a program on the crime at area schools informing students of the dangers and consequences and are willing to teach the same program at other organizations.
To schedule the detectives to give their presentation, you can call Hopkinsville Police at 890-1509 or 890-1542. The detectives also give presentations on cyber bullying, internet fraud and internet scams.
