A Clarksville man was arrested Thursday for allegedly abusing his step-son who was attempting to call his biological father on a pre-paid cell phone.
Charged with domestic assault was 36-year old Bennie Sanders of Helton Drive, Clarksville. The report says the school system called police after an 11-year old boy told them his step-father was hurting him.
When police arrived, the boy told officers Sanders had been punching him and had thrown him across the room. The child’s brother gave the same story and the victim said Sanders was mad because he attempted to call his biological father with a pre-paid cell phone purchased by his father.
The child’s mother said she had stepped in to stop a fight, but wouldn’t say the child had been punched. Sanders was lodged in the Montgomery County Jail.
