Clarksville Police say a Cunningham man was taken into custody following a brief chase and physical altercation with police over the weekend.
23-year old Michael Ryan Frazier of 2861 Highway 48, Cunningham, Tennessee was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on Sunday and charged with two counts of vehicle burglary and two counts of forgery, but managed to pay his bond and was released.
Police say on Sunday, officers responded to a theft of services call after Frazier had utilized a cab and did not pay the fare with police saying the call lead two officers to discover two checkbooks in Frazier’s possession that did not belong to him.
As the investigation progressed, a police detective determined Frazier stole the checks during a vehicle burglary and had attempted to cash two of them at different financial institutions, but was unsuccessful.
During questioning, Frazier admitted to police he entered over 25 unlocked vehicles, shortly after he was released on Friday, at residences and apartments located off of Madison Street, but only took items from about five of the vehicles.
Police say Frazier was out on Bond for a DUI in January 2013, after he shoplifted two flat screen TVs from a Madison Street store and was taken in custody and booked into jail on Friday and charged with theft, evading and resisting arrest and bonded out shortly after being booked.
Police say the investigation remains ongoing and more charges are expected against Frazier.
