Clarksville Police are commending the watchful eye of a local citizen, who helped police locate two teens involved in a residential and vehicle burglary Tuesday night.
Police say around 5:20 p.m. officers responded to a call in reference to a vehicle burglary that took place at 608 Cleveland Drive after a neighbor notified authorities when she saw two males at her next door neighbor’s house.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found the truck was damaged by someone trying to pry the door open and that the residence and a shed had been broken into while the homeowner was away.
Through the course of investigation, police determined a 14 and 17-year old male were the suspects wanted in connection with the burglaries.
During questioning with the juveniles, the 14 year old admitted to breaking into the truck and entering the house, while the 17 year old admitted to being involved in entering the residence and stealing items from the residence.
The juveniles also revealed where the stolen property was located, and was returned to the homeowner.
Police say the 14-year old was charged with aggravated burglary and criminal attempt to commit
burglary, while the 17-year old was charged with aggravated burglary.
The juveniles were detained and then turned over to their parents.
