The time will arrive tomorrow night for the annual Peter Mayer Stars and Promises Christmas Concert in Hopkinsville.
The concert is set for 7pm at the Alhambra Theatre, with tickets 25 dollars for adults and 10 dollars for students. This year’s concert will benefit the Christian County Juvenile Drug Court and the St. Luke Free Clinic.
Drug Court Treasurer and Christian County High School Resource Officer Stevie Tucker says the money is much-needed to continue the program after the General Assembly cut off funding.
Tucker says it’s very rewarding when a teen finishes the program and gets his or her life back on track.
It costs between 75 and 80 thousand dollars a year to operate the juvenile drug court and Christian is among only a very few counties in Kentucky that is able to privately fund the program.
Peter Mayer’s band includes Hopkinsville native Maggie Estes, which is the major reason the popular artist comes to city each year.
