A fantastic crowd gathered in downtown Hopkinsville this morning for the annual Turkey Trot, which benefited the Rails to Trails Foundation this year.
There was no cost to run in the 5k, but participants were encouraged to make a donation toward the rails to trails project or to purchase a t-shirt. Among the first-time participants was Christian County Judge-Executive Steve Tribble, who said Mayor Dan Kemp talked him into coming out this year.
Judge Tribble, like everyone participating, was pleased with the relatively pleasant weather and sunny skies that welcomed the runners to 9th and Main.
In addition to benefiting the Rails to Trails Foundation, the annual Turkey Trot also goes along with the city’s mission to make Hopkinsville a healthier community through exercise and recreation.
