A Christian County man was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center following a robbery Wednesday afternoon.
A news release from the Christian County Sheriff’s Office says 74-year old Kenneth Gant Golladay was working at the Country Boy Store on Gracey-Herndon Road when a black male came into the store wearing all black and struck him in the head.
The blow knocked Golladay unconscious, with the suspect getting away with undisclosed merchandise. Golladay called 911 and then drove himself to Jennie Stuart Medical Center after waking up and was treated for his injuries before being flown to Vanderbilt.
Golladay was able to give information to police that helped them identify a possible suspect, who was located at the Murray Wal-Mart thanks to the help of the Murray Police Department and Trigg County Sheriff’s Office. The man was arrested and charged, though police declined to immediately release his identity until they were sure no other accomplices were involved.
