Two men were arrested after a shooting on Walnut Street last night that sent the victim to a Nashville hospital.
Charged with first degree robbery are 20-year old Jay Carner and 50-year old Ronnie Forte of Hopkinsville. Forte is also charged with tampering with evidence.
The citations say Forte drove Carner and two other suspects to 1200 Walnut around 8:30, where the men forced their way inside and brandished handguns.
The suspects demanded money from a man identified as Antonio Greene and also allegedly stole another gun. During the course of the robbery, Tyrone Bailey was shot in the head and was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center before being transferred to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Police say Forte drove the suspects to another location after the shooting and left the stolen property at another residence in an attempt to conceal it.
Carner and Forte were arrested early this morning at the Hopkinsville Police Department and the other suspects were still being sought.
