A single-vehicle wreck on Walnut Street last night sent a mother and two children to the hospital, with the woman cited into court on DUI charges.
The report from Hopkinsville Police Officer Jerry Marcum says 28-year old Angela North of Hopkinsville was northbound on Walnut around 6:20 when she ran over a curb and into a utility pole.
Ms. North reportedly said she had a heart condition and that she had wrecked earlier this year when she had a seizure. Officer Marcum writes on the report that he found a bottle of hydrocodone in her purse and that her pupils were constricted on the scene of the accident—though her injuries prevented her from going through field sobriety tests.
Police charged Ms. North with DUI and two counts of wanton endangerment, with her and her five and seven year old children treated and released from Jennie Stuart Medical Center for facial injuries. A blood sample on Ms. North was sent to the State Police lab for testing.
