North Drive Middle School teacher, 46-year old Darren Longar says on Saturday, September 29th he was driving his car and was accompanied by his wife and daughter when they witnessed the collision just seconds after it happened on Highway 48, near Charlotte.
Longar says after witnessing the wreck, he sprung into action and went to check on the two drivers as he called 9-1-1 for help.
The 7th Grade Language Arts Teacher says when he first walked up to the scene, he noticed an unconscious woman in a vehicle that was starting to catch fire, but law enforcement and emergency personnel arrived shortly and were able to safely remove her from the vehicle.
