A Hopkinsville factory has been recognized for its efforts to improve the health of its employees.
Riken Elastomers was presented with the SHARP Certification from the state Labor Cabinet for taking extraordinary measures to ensure the safety and health of its employees.
A news release quotes Labor Cabinet Secretary Mark Brown as saying the award recognizes companies who are committed to making safety for employees a priority and that he is delighted to recognize the Hopkinsville plant.
Riken is implementing injury prevention, safety and health awareness programs to become the 17th company in Kentucky to receive the SHARP award. Statistics show Riken only had one accident last year and none in 2010.
