UPDATE: The original HPD citation stated it was Milburn's third DUI in the last five years, but that charge was amended down to DUI 1st in District Court Tuesday after court record revealed no prior DUI convictions during that period.
A Hopkinsville man was arrested on DUI charges Monday morning, in addition to drug crimes.
Hopkinsville Police Officer Edward Eastman pulled over 29-year old Adam Milburn on Walnut Street after witnessing him allegedly not using a turn signal.
Officer Eastman writes on the arrest card that he smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from Milburn’s person and that Milburn admitted to drinking within the last half hour. Milburn also allegedly admitted he had marijuana in his console.
Police say drug paraphernalia, two open beers, an open bottle of rum and two mixed drinks in cups were also found in Milburn’s pickup. Milburn was arrested and charged with DUI, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and driving with an open container of alcohol.
