Christmas is two months from Thursday and the Grand Marshal for this year’s Hopkinsville Christmas Parade has already been announced.
Longtime Christian County Attorney Mike Foster received the honor of being named Grand Marshal and will lead the parade along the usual route from Glass Avenue, to Main Street and south to 15th Street.
The Recreation Department says the parade is set for Saturday, December 1st at 10am and floats will be judged in four different areas.
The technical merit, artistic decoration, and theme adaptation award winners will receive 300 dollars each and the Grand Marshal Award winner will receive 400 dollars.
All parade entries are to donate a new, unwrapped toy when they submit their entry form. All toys received will be given to the Hopkinsville Jaycees to use as part of their gifts at their Jaycees Annual Underprivileged Children’s Christmas Party.
Any group, club, church, school, business or individual wishing to enter should call the Recreation Department at 887-2490 or stop by their office on Thomas Street.
