A Clarksville man was charged with multiple crimes Friday night after allegedly assaulting paramedics and police officers who were helping after he shot his own hand.
Officers were called to Dunlop Court to the call of a man who had shot himself in the hand. Police found 24-year old Jamie Lee Knight of Woody Hills Drive with a minor wound to the hand and he was loaded into an ambulance.
The Clarksville Police report says Knight was intoxicated and became combative against EMS personnel in the ambulance. A police officer then rode with him and Knight punched the officer in the face, after loosening himself from restraints.
He was treated at Gateway Medical Center and later charged with three counts of assault and served with warrants on other charges.
