Kentucky State Police responded to a two vehicle wreck with injury Monday morning in Crittenden County.
State Police say the collision occurred on KY-70 in Dycusburg around 1:50 p.m.
Preliminary investigation revealed that 37-year old James McFarland of Kuttawa was driving a 2001 Suzuki motorcycle eastbound on KY 70 and 28-year old Joshua Kinnis of Dycusburg was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu at the time of the wreck.
Police say Kinnis was stopped in a driveway waiting to make a left turn onto KY 70, when McFarland claimed that Mr. Kinnis was going to pull into the roadway, so he applied his brakes and by doing so, he lost control of the motorcycle causing it to collide with Kinnis’s vehicle and a mailbox.
As a result of the collision, the motorcycle overturned and ejected McFarland, who was not wearing a helmet and he was flown by PHI Air Medical to St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment.
Kinnis, who was wearing a seatbelt, went uninjured in the incident.
