Christian County Attorney Mike Foster wants to remind area residents that October is National Domestic Violence Awareness month.
The Office of the Christian County Attorney encourages all citizens to be aware of the importance of detecting and preventing domestic violence.
Foster was quoted as saying that for too many years, domestic violence was either ignored or treated as a private matter whereby many victims, including children, were left to suffer without hope or support.
Fosters added that state legislators have answered the call by supporting strong domestic violence laws including the recently adopted Amanda’s Law.
Victims of domestic violence, are strongly advised to call the Sanctuary Inc. hotline at 270-886-8174 or the County Attorney’s office at 270-887-4114.
