Kentucky State Police released further information concerning a double fatality wreck that occurred on I-69 yesterday afternoon.
State Police say the operator of the 2012 Honda Goldwing motorcycle was 65-year old Edsel R. Zint of Evansville, Indiana and the passenger was his wife, 64-year old Kathryn Zint.
Police say the wreck occurred around 1:15 p.m. on I-69 just north of the 32 mile-marker.
Preliminary investigation reveals that 34-year old Mary J. Moore of Louisville was driving northbound on the interstate and for some unknown reason, her SUV exited the left shoulder of the roadway.
As a result, police say Mrs. Moore overcorrected and lost control of her vehicle causing it to turn sideways, travel into the median, go airborne and collide with the motorcycle that was traveling southbound.
The Hopkins County Coroner, Dennis Mayfield, pronounced Mr. and Mrs. Zint dead at the scene.
Mrs. Moore and her passenger and husband, 41-year old Keith A. Moore were both transported by ambulance to the Regional Medical Center for treatment of their injuries.
