Governor Steve Beshear was in Hopkinsville this afternoon to present a check to a local women’s recovery center.
Governor Beshear presented officials with the Trilogy Recovery Center for Women with a $250,000 check and stated it was very important for him to personally hand over the check to an organization that helps women become drug free and productive citizens.
Meanwhile, Governor Beshear stated he was thrilled to know that the money would be put to good use.
Officials say the $250,000 will go towards funding staff at the center and is part of a state-wide recovery program that was created to help residents across the Commonwealth recover from substance abuse, which often leads to chronic homelessness.
Department for Local Government Commissioner, Tony Wilder, Christian County Attorney Mike Foster and Senator Joey Pendleton were among other local officials who attended today’s check presentation.
The Trilogy Recovery Center for Women is a Transitional Living Program with 100 beds for women with various substance addictions and is located at 100 Trilogy Avenue.
