The Clarksville Police Department has placed a recent attempted abduction case into a inactive status.
Police say Detective Alan Morgan investigated the claim of an attempted abduction and could not find any evidence to allow the case to proceed any further or substantiate the claim.
Police say if any additional information or leads are received, the investigation can be reopened.
As previously reported, the attempted abduction occurred around Friday around 6:30 p.m.
when three small children were playing in a wood line area near their residences on Cabana Drive when a man allegedly pulled up in a pickup truck and got out of the vehicle and grabbed the arm of one of the children in an attempt to pull her with him. The man quickly released the child after the other children started to scream.
Based on varying information from the children, police were initially searching for a charcoal gray newer model 4 door Chevy Pickup with large tires with a possible lift kit and dark tinted windows that had an eagle sticker on the upper driver side corner of the windshield and red writing or lettering on the back window.
The suspect was described as an older white male with gray hair that was thinning or balding and was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt and dark blue jeans.
Anyone with further information about the attempted abduction case are asked to call 931-645-8477.
