The victim of the Sunday morning murder in Oak Grove has been identified.
Christian County Coroner Doris Lamb says 20-year old Shannon Fairley of Hopkinsville was the man shot and killed around 3:20am at the Mapco gas station next to Wal-Mart.
Oak Grove Police say 22-year old Hersey Mitchell of Persimmon Court was arrested in Clarksville yesterday and will be extradited to Christian County on murder charges. A second victim, who has not been identified by police, was injured by gunfire and was taken by private vehicle to Jennie Stuart Medical Center.
Fairley was one of the suspects charged in the June 2010 shooting incident at the Woodland Heights Apartments and was facing complicity to first degree assault and wanton endangerment charges. Police believe 22-year old Antonio Dooley of Clarksville was the man who pulled the trigger, but accused Fairley of pistol-whipping a third victim.
