The Carter Road murder case began in Christian Circuit Court with jury selection this morning.
Circuit Judge John Atkins is presiding over the case and took one last “not guilty” plea from the attorneys of 23-year old Derrick James and 22-year old Jordan Young of Clarksville.
All jurors from both circuit court divisions were called in to form a larger jury pool to find the best potential group.
Young and James are charged in the shooting death of 18-year old Shyara Olavarria in May of 2008 on Carter Road near Oak Grove. A third defendant, Kenneth Hudson, was found guilty two years ago of complicity to murder. The trial is expected to last the entire week.
