Oak Grove Police have identified the man they believe is responsible for a Sunday morning double-shooting at a convenience store that left one man dead and another injured.
Public Information Officer Sam Suiter says 22-year old Hersey Mitchell is awaiting extradition at the Montgomery County Jail on murder charges. The Montgomery County Jail website lists Mitchell’s address as Persimmon Court, Clarksville and has his bond at 250-thousand dollars.
Officer Suiter said the department is not releasing the names of the victims at this time.
The incident happened around 3:20 at the Mapco on Segler Drive, which is near the Oak Grove Wal-Mart. The injured victim was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center by private vehicle and the other man was pronounced dead at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital on Fort Campbell.
A pursuit by Oak Grove police continued into Montgomery County and police there assisted in the apprehension of Mitchell.
