It was another productive meeting for the christian county board of education tonight.
School board members unanimously passed the school district’s working budget with Director of Business, Jessica Darnell explaining the exact dollar amount that was approved.
Ms. Darnell also explained how this year’s budget was considerably different from last year.
The school district is required by the state to pass three budgets in a year, which includes a draft, a tentative and working budget, which is also considered to be the operational budget.
School board members also passed a revised salary schedule for the 2012-13 school year to reflect a one percent salary increase for certified and classified employees.
In other action, the board approved to accept a bid to buy a board vehicle from patriot Chevrolet in the amount of over $22,000 with board members Betsy Glover and Mary DeBow voting no.
The board also approved setting aside $2,000 for students who receive free or reduced lunches to help cover participation fees for the performing arts center band and orchestra.
School board members also unanimously approved Linda Keller to serve on the local planning committee as a representative of the school board.
