Hopkinsville Police Officers will be among those attending the funeral of a fallen officer in the Kentucky town of Hodgenville.
Forty-three year old Mark Taulbee was pursuing a suspect early Sunday when he lost control of his cruiser and crashed. Hundreds of people are expected to attend the funeral service in the city just east of Elizabethtown and Hodgenville Mayor Terry Cruse says the support from the Commonwealth is no surprise to him.
Mayor Cruse is scheduled to speak at the noon Friday funeral and says police are always in danger when protecting their community.
The mayor described Officer Taulbee as a very good man who took his job seriously.
