Three juveniles avoided injury late last night when a woman allegedly drove her vehicle into their home and then drove away.
The incident happened around 11:15 at 307 East 21st Street, where a witness called the ECC after seeing a silver vehicle run a stop sign before plowing into a residence.
Police used a vehicle description and located the vehicle in the alley between Bryan Street and East 18th. The vehicle’s driver, 23-year old Samantha Martin of Hopkinsville, soon arrived and admitted to the incident. She said she fled the scene because she was scared.
Martin reportedly said her brakes had been malfunctioning, but that she decided to go ahead and drive the vehicle and that was what caused her to hit the home.
Three female teens were in the severely damaged home, but none of them were hurt. Martin was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and three counts of wanton endangerment.
