The man injured in an accident involving a tractor on Pembroke Road Wednesday afternoon is fighting for his life at a Nashville hospital.
A spokesman at Vanderbilt University Medical Center says 40-year old Grady Givens of Fairview, Tennessee is in critical condition after being flown there from Jennie Stuart.
Givens, who owns Double-G Mowing, was reportedly talking to a man operating a tractor near the Salubria Springs Road intersection around 4:20 when he either tripped or fell beneath a tractor as it drove past where he was standing.
Double-G Mowing was contracted by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to mow the right of way in that area.
A member of the Pembroke Volunteer Fire Department performed CPR on Givens at the scene and saved his life. Givens was first taken to Jennie Stuart where he was stabilized before being flown to Nashville.
The Christian County Sheriff’s Office investigated the incident, with the Rescue Squad and EMS also responding to the scene.
