An employee of a mowing contractor out of Tennessee was critically injured Wednesday afternoon after being run over by a tractor near Pembroke.
Christian County Emergency Management Director Randy Graham says the 40-year old Tennessee man was standing on the ground talking to a man operating a tractor near the intersection of Pembroke Road and Salubria Springs Road around 4:30.
A news release from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says Double-G Mowing employees indicated the victim either tripped or fell beneath a tractor as it drove past where he was standing.
An Air-Evac helicopter was called to the scene, but the victim wasn’t stable enough to fly to Nashville at the time. CPR was performed and he was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center by ambulance. Graham said the man was later flown to Vanderbilt later in the evening after being stabilized.
The Pembroke Volunteer Fire Department and Christian County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene in addition to the rescue squad. We’ll have more details on the incident as they become available.
