Preliminary statistics released by Kentucky State Police reveals that 10 people died in 10 separate crashes on Kentucky roadways from Tuesday, September 4th through Sunday.
State Police say seven of the victims were traveling in passenger vehicles and that six of the victims were not wearing seat belts.
One single fatality crash occurred in each of the following counties: Adair, Christian, Clay, Hardin, Logan, McCracken and Spencer with State Police saying the crashes in Adair County and Clay Counties involved the suspected use of alcohol.
State police say two fatalities were the result of motorcycle wrecks and took place in Carter and Warren Counties with police also reporting that a pedestrian was killed in Pike County.
Through Sunday, preliminary statistics indicate that 498 people have died on Kentucky roadways during 2012, which is the same as reported for this time period last year.
