The Hopkins County Grand Jury this week indicted a man on robbery, burglary and sodomy charges.
42-year old Timothy Britton was indicted Thursday on those charges after the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police and other local law enforcement agencies began investigating a series of three home invasion style robberies with one of the victims being sexually assaulted in the Hanson area.
The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office in partnership with KSP began their investigation into the incidents in February with the Madisonville Police Department also investigating similar calls.
In July, the Madisonville Police Department arrested Britton in reference to one of their cases and while working together with the sheriff’s office and KSP, Britton was connected to other crimes after the two agencies reviewed similarities in their criminal cases.
He was indicted on 4 counts of robbery, 1 count of burglary, and 1 count of sodomy.
