Hopkinsville Police recently arrested two suspects accused of attacking a man as he walked to the hospital.
Hopkinsville Police Detective Tony Sierra says 19-year old Michael McCrory of Hopkinsville and 18-year old Eddie Elliott of Bowling Green are charged with an assault from August 16th.
Detective Sierra says McCrory blindsided 52-year old James Foley near the 300 block of West 18th Street as he attempted to walk to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment of a stomach virus.
The attack was caught on hospital surveillance cameras, with police saying McCory took 42 dollars out of Foley’s pocket as he fell to the ground. Elliott then allegedly joined McCory and kicked Foley as he lied defenseless on the ground.
Detective Sierra says the suspects remained in the area and taunted the victim for a minute as he attempted to crawl away before witnesses finally came to his aid. A separate camera showed the suspects reenacting the event and laughing as they left the area.
Foley refused treatment for his injuries and illness, saying he preferred to go back home where he felt safe. Foley believes he may have a broken jaw, according to police.
