Kentucky State Police say there will be extra troopers on the roads this Labor Day Weekend.
A news release says the extra enforcement will be through Monday night and will focus on reducing fatal wrecks and wrecks with injuries. As always, there will be zero tolerance for anyone driving under the influence of alcohol.
Thirteen people died on Kentucky roadways last year on Labor Day weekend and highway fatalities have consistently ran above last year’s pace through 2012. Troopers are asking for motorists to stop that trend this weekend by not drinking and driving and by always wearing a seat belt.
