Governor Steve Beshear announced today that he has appointed a new chief of staff.
Larry Bond of Louisville has been appointed to the position after it was left vacant by Mike Haydon, who passed away suddenly earlier this month.
Bond previously served as the deputy chief of staff and also served as the chief administrative officer for the Jefferson County Government and as chief deputy and chief operating officer for the Jefferson County Circuit Clerk’s Office.
Governor Steve Beshear says Bond is the right person to step into this enormous role at a very difficult time and that he has demonstrated a keen understanding of state-wide issues.
Bond’s appointment is effective immediately and Governor Beshear says he will make another announcement concerning the hiring of a new deputy chief of staff.
