Todd County Fiscal Court approved first reading of its property tax ordinance at this morning’s meeting, deciding to leave them where they were last year.
Magistrates gave Judge-Executive Daryl Greenfield its blessing two weeks ago to go forward with an ordinance to keep the rate at 9.9 cents per 100 dollars of assessed value and that’s what he did.
Judge Greenfield says the tax rate on “personal property” is dictated by a formula created by the state.
In other action, court approved an ordinance to re-finance the female dormitory at the Todd County Jail. The new agreement will not postpone when the debt is paid off, it only reduces the interest rate and monthly payment.
