Hopkinsville City Council tonight unanimously passed the first reading of the 2012 property tax rate and recognized a city employee for her dedicated service to the community.

In other business, during council member comments, Councilwoman Ann Cherry apologized to fellow council members for being about thirty minutes late to the meeting with her voice barely audible.
Hopkinsville Mayor Dan Kemp also recognized retiring ECC Communications Section Supervisor, Judy Toombs for her years of service.
