A Millbrooke Elementary School teacher was named “Teacher of the Year” at this morning’s Chamber of Commerce Teacher Appreciation Breakfast at the Bruce Convention Center.
Kindergarten teacher Lisa Bell received the highest award given at the annual event and said it’s an honor to teach the young boys and girls at Millbrooke.
Ms. Bell was one of 16 finalists from across the district who was nominated for the award. Superintendent Mary Ann Gemmill gave the annual “pep talk” to teachers, saying they could be the only person in the world who believes in a young child in their room.
The Convention Center was packed for the event, which was presented by Fort Campbell Federal Credit Union and Murray State University. Public schools begin Wednesday in Christian County.
