Two females were severely injured in a vehicle versus moped wreck on North Main Street yesterday afternoon.
The report from Hopkinsville Police says the incident happened around 4pm at the intersection with Glass Avenue, where 16-year old Jasmine Lacquia of Hopkinsville was southbound on her moped.
Police say 21-year old Samantha Lamb of Hopkinsville was attempting to make a left turn off Main onto Glass and failed to yield the right of way when she turned in front of oncoming traffic—with Ms. Lacquia not having time to avoid hitting the right front of the car’s bumper.
Lacquia and her passenger, 20-year old Isabella Lacquia of Hopkinsville, were thrown to the pavement and both would be flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, where they are listed in critical condition.
Ms. Lamb went uninjured in the incident.
